Peer-to-peer Sender Authentication for Thunderbird

About

This thunderbird extension implements Byzantine fault tolerant public key authentication as an overlay over SMTP.  Authenticated public keys are used to provide sender and content authentication  in a transparent manner. The user is not required to make any trustworthiness decisions.  More details are available in the research paper

Installation

To install the extension, download the appropriate XPI file onto the local disk. Then click Tools/Extensions/Install on thunderbird and select the downloaded file.  The extension adds a set of menu items to Tools menu in thunderbird.
