Vision

VANETs (Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks) provide great opportunity for collaborative traffic information exchange which can revolutionize the way we drive today. Our vision is to design and deploy real inter-vehicle systems by means of VANETs in order to provide the following services:

Road Safety - Improve road safety in hazardous driving conditions like foggy weather by introducing active accident-prevention mechanisms
Traffic management - Ease traffic congestion and provide dynamic route planning by means of collaborative traffic information exchange
Multimedia delivery - Make available rich multimedia content delivery to vehicles and allow content sharing between vehicles

Demo

TrafficView Demo: This video shows a demonstration of the TrafficView system, performed with four vehicles, which continuously exchanged speed and location information over wireless networking technology, as they navigated across the Rutgers University campus.
